Bio

Margaret Thomson is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and teaches undergraduate courses in the department of Curriculum & Instruction. She serves as Co-chair of the School of Education Summer Literacy Institute and the annual TAIR (Texas Association for the Improvement of Reading) conferences.

Helping classroom teachers and School of Education undergraduate teacher-education students provide effective, research-based literacy instruction that engages all learners — particularly those with special needs — is the focus of her research interests and expertise. Mrs. Thomson is currently president of the state TAIR organization and serves on the ILA (International Literacy Association) Lee Bennett Hopkins Promising Poet Award and Paul A. Witty Short Story Award committees.
